Grade 3/4 News

What's new(s) in our room? First of all we are finishing up the final unit in Science: Animal Life Cycles. Both grades also finished their final project for the second to last Math unit. The unit was DATA ANALYSIS. Is was a fun unit in which the students got to gather information and turn that information into graphs. One of the activities we did for this unit was the gathering and graphing of the Drydale Baby. The students had a great time. Graph #1 was the day the baby will be born. There were some interesting responces. Graph #2 Girl or Boy - also interesting. There are a large number of grade 3 and 4's who are thinking BOY. The final two graphs were weight and length . We have some very tiny guesses and some very large guesses. They are all excited to see what comes from all the choices they made on our baby. Yesterday, we got a small start on the final unit of "Chance and Uncertainty". This unit should take about two weeks to compete. This will leave a few days for review time. I hope everything is going well for everyone and that the beautiful weather is being enjoyed by all.
